30,000 lb Heavy-Duty 4-Post Lift — Standard Runways

The Challenger 44030 is a 30,000 lb capacity chain-driven 4-post lift designed for medium-duty commercial vehicles, fleet trucks, buses, and RVs. This standard-length configuration features runways with a maximum wheelbase capacity of 230 inches, suitable for a wide range of Class 4–7 commercial vehicles. Unlike the larger 44040, 44050, and 44060 models, the 44030 runs on single-phase 208-230V power, making it accessible to a broader range of commercial facilities without three-phase electrical service.

Chain-Driven Lifting System

The 44030 uses a chain-driven lifting system powered by a 3 HP hydraulic power unit with a 6-gallon SAE-10 hydraulic reservoir. This system raises the full 30,000 lb rated load through 68 inches of rise in approximately 105 seconds. Pneumatic air locks engage automatically at each lock position, requiring a compressed air supply connected to the lift. The chain-driven design provides reliable, even lifting across all four runways without the cable maintenance associated with cable-driven systems.

Compact Commercial Platform

The 44030 features a more compact footprint than the higher-capacity 44040–44060 series. It measures 149.5 inches wide overall with 132.5 inches between the columns and 24-inch wide runways. Runway height is 9 inches and overall height reaches 92 inches at full rise. The adjustable runway spacing ranges from 54 to 75 inches between the runways, accommodating a wide range of vehicle track widths including dual-rear-wheel configurations.

Installation Requirements

Installation requires a minimum 4-inch thick reinforced concrete floor rated at 3,500 PSI with steel rebar reinforcement. The lift operates on 208-230V single-phase power at 30 amps, making it compatible with standard commercial electrical service. The recommended bay size for this standard-length model is 15 feet 6 inches wide by 30 feet deep. This lift is rated for indoor use only.

Six Configurations Available

The 44030 is available in three track lengths — standard, extended, and extra-long — each offered with or without an integrated alignment rack. This standard model handles wheelbases up to 230 inches. The 44030E extends capacity to 290-inch wheelbases, and the 44030X accommodates wheelbases up to 350 inches. Alignment rack versions (44030AR, 44030EAR, 44030XAR) add integrated turn plates and slip plates for performing wheel alignment service directly on the lift.

Frequently Asked Questions

The 44030 is rated for 30,000 lbs (15 tons) and handles medium-duty trucks, delivery vans, buses, RVs, and commercial fleet vehicles within that weight class. The standard model accommodates wheelbases up to 230 inches.
The 44030 requires 208-230V single-phase power at 30 amps with a 30-amp time delay fuse or circuit breaker. Minimum 10-gauge wire is required, with 8-gauge preferred. It also requires a compressed air supply for the pneumatic locking system.
Installation requires a minimum 4-inch thick reinforced concrete slab rated at 3,500 PSI with steel rebar reinforcement. The concrete must be free from cracks or seams and cured at least 28 days.
The 44030 is built on a smaller, lighter platform with a 3 HP single-phase motor, 24-inch runways, and 68 inches of rise. The 44040–44060 are larger lifts with 32-inch runways, 73 inches of rise, and 10-15 HP three-phase motors. The 44030 is the only model in this series that runs on single-phase power, making it more accessible for facilities without three-phase service.
The AR (alignment rack) versions include integrated turn plates and slip plates built into the runways, allowing wheel alignment service to be performed directly on the lift. The non-AR versions are standard drive-on lifts without alignment equipment. Dimensions and capacity are identical between AR and non-AR versions of the same track length.
The 44030 comes in three track lengths: standard (230-inch max wheelbase), extended E (290-inch max wheelbase), and extra-long X (350-inch max wheelbase). Each length is available with or without an alignment rack, for six total configurations.
The 44030 raises the full 30,000 lb rated load through 68 inches of rise in approximately 105 seconds using the 3 HP hydraulic power unit.
The 44030 uses SAE-10 medium hydraulic oil or equivalent (automatic transmission fluid may also be used) in a 6-gallon reservoir. The oil should be checked regularly and changed according to the maintenance schedule.
Yes. The Challenger 44030 is ALI (Automotive Lift Institute) certified, meaning it has been independently tested and verified to meet ANSI/ALI ALCTV safety standards.
No. The 44030 is rated for indoor use only. The motors are not sealed against weather or moisture and must be installed in an enclosed facility.
For the standard 44030, the recommended bay size is 15 feet 6 inches wide by 30 feet deep. The 44030E requires 15'6" x 35', and the 44030X requires additional depth proportional to its extra track length.
Regular maintenance on 30-day intervals includes checking hydraulic fluid level and condition, inspecting chains and chain anchors, verifying air lock engagement, lubricating pivot points and rollers, and inspecting the overall structural condition. Consult the owner's manual for the complete maintenance schedule.
Track extensions in 3-foot increments can be added to one or both ends of the runways. Contact your authorized Challenger Lifts dealer for available accessories and options.
