4-Post & Alignment Lift Installation
Drive-on runway lifts for service bays and alignment racks leveled for accurate readings, 12K to 18K lbs. NJ, PA, and NY.
4-post lifts are what oil change, muffler, tire, and general service bays run when they need a vehicle in the air without arm swing in the way. The vehicle sits on the runways: drive on, position, raise. An alignment rack is a 4-post built for alignment work, so this page covers both.
Looking for home garage storage instead? That's a different lift and a different job; see storage lift installation. All installation services are on our lift installation page.
4-Post Service Lifts
Wheels stay on the runways for exhaust, oil changes, inspections, and fluid services. Add rolling jacks for wheel-off brake and tire work.
- No arm swing: drive on and go, for faster vehicle cycling in high-volume bays.
- Full undercar access: open from all four sides, with no columns in the way.
- Rolling jacks: optional bridge jacks lift the wheels off the runways. One lift, two capabilities.
- Heavier capacity: commonly 12K to 18K, so trucks, vans, and fleet vehicles are no problem.
We assess the bay, verify the floor handles the load at each post, confirm ceiling clearance for the raised vehicle, and run the electrical. Runway lifts go in fast: most installs take half a day to a full day.

4-Post Service Installs
Alignment Racks
Same install fundamentals as a service 4-post, but the precision requirements are tighter: turnplates up front, slip plates in the rear, level runways, and mounting points for your camera or sensor system.
- Floor leveling: the rack has to be dead level, and we shim and adjust until it is. Readings are only as good as the platform.
- Turnplates and slip plates: recessed into the runways, they have to move freely under load and stay calibrated. We set them and verify travel.
- Camera and sensor mounting: Hunter, John Bean, Hofmann, or others need clear sightlines and rigid mounting. We coordinate with your vendor or install the mounts ourselves.
- Approach: vehicles need a straight, level drive-on. If the bay layout won't allow it, we flag it during the site assessment.
| Configuration | What It Includes | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|
| Open-front alignment rack | 4-post, turnplates, slip plates | Tire shops, general service |
| Closed-front alignment rack | 4-post, turnplates, slip plates, rolling jacks | Dealership service lanes |
| Heavy-duty alignment | 14K+ 4-post, HD turnplates | Trucks, fleet, commercial |
| Retrofit or conversion | Turnplates and slip plates added to an existing 4-post | Shops adding alignment capability |
Atlas: Platinum PVL14 (14K, ALI certified, alignment-ready). Challenger: 4P14 (14K), AR4115 alignment racks (15K), 44018AR (18K), and heavy-duty 4030 and 44030AR alignment lifts (30K). Flexible power unit placement on all models.
