Heavy-Duty Air Routing for 30,000 Lb Lifts

The Challenger 44AK30 is the internal air line kit for 4030 and 44030 series heavy-duty 4-post lifts, routing compressed air from the power unit column through the runways to front and rear rolling jack positions. Unlike the lighter-duty 40230 kits that tee into an existing air supply on the runway, the 44AK30 installs a dedicated pneumatic bracket on the power unit column with a ball valve and 3-way pneumatic valve for independent air control. This design provides the higher air flow needed to power the larger RJ15 rolling jacks used on 30,000 lb lifts.

Column-to-Runway Air Distribution

Air routes from the pneumatic bracket on the power unit column through 3/8-inch tubing with push-on fittings, tees, and NPT couplings along the runway I-beams. At each jack position, 25-foot flex coil lines connect to the rolling jacks through 1/4-inch MNPT quick disconnects. The customer provides four 1/4-inch MNPT quick disconnects or plugs to match their preferred fitting style. Cable brackets mount to the I-beam with 3/8-inch drilled holes to guide the spiral flex air lines along the runway.

Installation Details

Installation requires drilling 3/8-inch holes in the runway I-beam for cable bracket mounting. Short spiral flex air lines (24-inch and 36-inch) route between fixed points on the runway, while the 25-foot flex coils provide the working length to reach the rolling jacks at any position. The ball valve provides a master shutoff at the power unit, and the 3-way pneumatic valve directs air to the correct runway as needed.
