Service & Repair

Lift Inspection & Repair

Annual inspections, hydraulic repairs, cables, safety locks, and full rebuilds on 2-post, 4-post, inground, storage, and alignment lifts. Any brand.

We've seen every failure mode there is, and we carry common parts on the truck so most repairs get done on the first visit. Our techs are factory-trained on Challenger and Rotary and experienced with every major brand. This page covers lifts; for compressors, oil systems, and air lines see service and repair.

Annual Lift Inspections

We recommend an annual inspection for every lift. A full annual inspection covers every system on the lift:

  • Hydraulic system: cylinders, hoses, fittings, power unit, fluid condition
  • Cables: tension, fraying, sheave condition
  • Chains: stretch, lubrication, sprocket wear
  • Safety locks: engagement at every position, release function
  • Carriages: rollers, slides, arm pivot points
  • Arms and pads: condition, swing range, pad contact
  • Electrical: motor, controls, switches, wiring, grounding
  • Structural: columns, base plates, anchors, runway condition

You get a written report documenting the condition of everything inspected and any repairs needed. If something needs attention, we quote it on the spot.

Hydraulic Repairs

When the hydraulics fail, the lift doesn't go up, or worse, it drifts down.

  • Cylinder reseals: the most common service call. We carry seal kits for Challenger, Rotary, Atlas, BendPak, and most other brands, and reseal on site, same visit.
  • Hose replacement: hoses and fittings replaced with the correct pressure rating, not hardware store parts.
  • Power unit repair: pump rebuilds, motor replacement, solenoid valve repair, and flow control adjustment. If the lift is slow, noisy, or won't hold pressure, this is usually where we start.
  • Fluid service: fluid changes, contamination flushes, and filter replacement. Old fluid causes valve sticking, slow operation, and seal damage.

Cables, Chains & Mechanical

Equalization cables keep both sides of a 2-post rising at the same rate; they stretch and fray, and we replace them when they're worn, not when they snap. Worn sheave grooves chew through cables, so we replace sheaves and cables together when needed. On 4-post and storage lifts we adjust, lubricate, and replace chains and sprockets, and we replace worn carriage rollers, bushings, slide blocks, and runway rollers.

Safety Systems

This is what keeps a vehicle from coming down if the hydraulics fail, and we don't take shortcuts. We test every lock position on every inspection, and worn, sticking, or misadjusted locks get fixed or replaced immediately. We also service pneumatic and manual lock releases, limit switches, pendant controls, pushbutton stations, and key switches.

Arms, Pads & Adapters

Rubber arm pads wear and crack, and we carry common sizes. Bent or cracked arms get replaced, not straightened, because a straightened arm is a weakened arm. We also supply and install truck, SUV, and EV battery-pack adapter sets for 2-post lifts.

Emergency Lift Service

Limited 24-hour emergency service is available for situations that can't wait until Monday: a car that fell off a lift, a lift stuck with a vehicle on it, a hydraulic leak that takes a lift out of service, or locks that won't engage. Emergency calls are prioritized over scheduled service. Response time depends on your location and the time of day. For emergencies, call us directly at (908) 637-0062 rather than using the web form.

Brands We Service

Challenger, Rotary, Atlas, BendPak, Forward, Mohawk, Globe, Ammco, Hunter, Nussbaum, Consul, and Stertil-Koni. If it goes up and down, we work on it.

Common Questions

A full mechanical and safety inspection: hydraulics, cables, locks, carriages, arms, pads, electrical, controls, and structural. You get a written report documenting the condition and any repairs needed.

Yes. Call us immediately. We respond to lift failures and accidents: we'll help stabilize the situation, assess the lift and the damage, and determine what happened. If the lift failed mechanically, we'll find the cause and whether it can be repaired or needs replacement.

In many cases, yes. Cylinder reseals, cable replacement, carriage rebuilds, new safety locks, and power unit overhaul can extend a lift's service life significantly at a fraction of the cost of new. We'll tell you whether a rebuild makes sense or it's time to replace.

It depends on the day and where you are. Emergency calls, like a lift stuck with a car on it, are prioritized over scheduled service. Call us directly for emergencies.
