Lift Installation

Storage Lift Installation

Park one car on top and one underneath. Storage lifts for home garages and collector buildings across New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, and New York.

Storage lifts double your garage space without building an addition. The goal is stacking vehicles, not working on them, and that's what separates a storage lift from a 4-post service lift in a commercial shop.

The lift itself is simple. The garage is the variable. Ceiling height, slab, electrical, and door clearance are where most people get stuck, and that's what we sort out before anything ships. Working on cars rather than storing them? See 4-post service lifts or our full lift installation services.

Will It Fit? What We Check in Your Garage

  • Ceiling height: you need clearance for the lift at full rise plus the vehicle on top. Standard 8' ceilings won't work for most models; 10' to 12' is typical. We measure before you order.
  • Slab: residential slabs are often 4 inches and unreinforced, which is fine for some lifts and not others. If it needs work, we handle the concrete scope.
  • Electrical: most storage lifts need 220V, which a lot of home garages don't have. We spec the exact circuit.
  • Door clearance: the lift has to fit through the bay door, and vehicles need room to drive on straight. Tight 2-car garages can work; layout matters.
  • Weight: the lift weighs 2,000 to 3,500 lbs before the vehicles. We verify the slab handles the concentrated loads at each post.

Storage Models We Install

Atlas: Garage PRO8000 (8K, the standard for home storage) and Garage PRO9000 (9K, extra wide, tall, and long for trucks and SUVs).

Challenger: CL4P7 (7K) and CL4P9 (9K), each available with extended ramps, plus extra-wide (CL4P9W) and extra-long (CL4P9X) versions. Caster kits, drip trays, and jack platforms are available on all models.

Storage lifts raise on chains. Chain stretch causes uneven lifting over time, so we adjust, lubricate, and replace chains and sprockets as part of lift service.

Common Questions

If the ceiling height, slab, and electrical support it, yes. We check all three during the site assessment. Most home garages need at least 10 feet of ceiling, a 4-inch reinforced slab, and a 220V circuit. If any of those aren't there, we'll tell you what it takes to get there.

A storage lift goes in a home garage or collector building and is for stacking cars to save space. A 4-post service lift goes in a commercial shop (oil change bays, muffler shops, tire shops) and is for getting vehicles in the air to work on them.

Usually not. Most models need 10 to 12 feet, and low-profile collector setups still need about 9 to 10. We measure before you order so you don't buy a lift that won't fit.
