The Challenger 4018XFX is an 18,000 lb ALI-Certified heavy-duty 4-post lift built for shops that service full-size pickup trucks, cargo vans, box trucks, fleet vehicles, and other heavy-duty commercial vehicles up to 9 tons. The 4018XFX uses a proven cable-drive lifting system with 24-inch wide drive-on runways, a 220-inch maximum wheelbase capacity, and a 72-inch rise height reached in approximately 70 seconds — making it one of the fastest heavy-duty 4-post lifts in its class. The enclosed closed-front column design with front and rear crossbeams provides maximum structural rigidity for vehicles at or near the 18,000 lb rated capacity. A 3HP power unit operates on standard 208–230V single-phase power with a 30-amp dedicated circuit, and the single-point mechanical lock release with air-cylinder-operated locks across 17 height positions delivers secure, repeatable stops without manual lock bars. Like all 4-post lifts in the Challenger lineup, the 4018XFX requires a 90–120 PSI compressed air supply for lock operation.

Built for Heavy-Duty Fleet and Commercial Service

Where the 15,000 lb 4115 Series serves a mix of passenger vehicles and light trucks, the 4018XFX is purpose-built for the heavy end of the service bay. The 220-inch maximum wheelbase handles long-wheelbase crew cab trucks, extended cargo vans (Ford Transit, RAM ProMaster, Mercedes Sprinter), box trucks, and medium-duty commercial vehicles that smaller 4-post lifts can't accommodate. The 9 1/2-inch runway height provides additional ground clearance for rolling jacks and underbody access on taller vehicles, and the 40-inch gap between runways gives technicians room to work underneath with rolling creepers, jacks, and drain pans. The 303 3/8-inch overall length and 152 1/8-inch overall width require a minimum service bay of 14 feet wide by 24 feet deep with a ceiling height of at least 78 inches plus the height of the tallest vehicle you plan to service.

Lift Only or Complete Accessory Package

The 4018XFX is available in two configurations. The base lift-only model includes the complete 4-post lift structure, 3HP power unit, approach ramps, and front wheel stops. The 4018XFX PKG complete accessory package adds two 9,000 lb capacity rolling jacks (model RJ9A), one airline kit for air tool access at the lift, two fold-down wheel stops for rear tire positioning, and one work step for safe technician access to the vehicle at raised height. The rolling jacks are essential for brake, suspension, and tire work — they allow individual wheels to be lifted off the runway surface for service. The airline kit routes compressed air from your shop's supply to quick-connect fittings at the lift for impact wrenches and other pneumatic tools. For most shops, the PKG configuration is the recommended purchase — these accessories are needed for daily operation and are more cost-effective purchased as a package than individually.

Construction, Safety & Installation

The 4018XFX is built on enclosed steel columns with a closed-front crossbeam design that ties all four columns together for maximum frame rigidity under heavy loads. The cable-drive lifting system uses four steel lifting cables routed through the column assemblies, and eight glide bearings provide smooth, low-friction carriage travel. The air-cylinder-operated lock system engages automatically across 17 height positions and releases from a single point — no individual lock bars to set at each column. Installation requires a concrete floor that is a minimum of 6 inches thick with a compressive strength of 4,000 PSI or greater, steel-reinforced, free from cracks or seams, and cured at least 30 days — note that the 4018XFX has stricter concrete requirements than lighter 4-post lifts due to its higher capacity and concentrated column loads. A dedicated 208–230V, 30-amp single-phase circuit and 90–120 PSI compressed air supply are required. The 4018XFX ships at approximately 5,465 lbs — a forklift or loading dock is required at the delivery location.
