Overview
Purpose and Capacity
The Atlas PV-12PX is a heavy-duty direct-drive hydraulic 2-post overhead lift built for service facilities handling a wider range of vehicles. With a 12,000 lb capacity (5,443 kg) and ALI/ETL certification, this lift safely handles sedans, coupes, compact SUVs, crossovers, and light trucks in professional service bays. The enhanced lifting range and extended arm reach accommodate diverse vehicle profiles while maintaining the hydraulic reliability and low-maintenance design that direct-drive technology provides.
Key Technical Features
Direct-Drive Hydraulic Design
The PV-12PX uses direct-drive hydraulic cylinders for smooth, synchronized power without mechanical wear points. ANSI-compliant dual hydraulic cylinders provide redundant safety, ensuring the lift remains secure even if one cylinder fails. This engineering eliminates routine chain adjustments, cable replacements, or tensioning maintenance required by traditional chain-driven lifts, resulting in lower total cost of ownership and fewer service interruptions.
Heavy-Duty Safety and Stability
Self-lubricating UHMW slider blocks guide the columns during extension and retraction, ensuring smooth motion without binding. A single-point safety release mechanism allows controlled descent if power is lost. The overhead design provides a clear floor without base columns, maximizing workspace under the lift and accommodating various vehicle configurations. Built-in overhead safety shut-off protection prevents over-extension.
Enhanced Lifting Performance
The PV-12PX lifts vehicles in 55 seconds and lowers them in 26 seconds to a maximum height of 72.125 inches (1,832 mm). Dual adjustable height settings (lower at 165 inches and higher at 177 inches overall height) provide flexibility for facilities with varying ceiling dimensions. The extended arm reach from 38 to 58 inches accommodates larger vehicle footprints. Operating at 75 dB noise level, it maintains a professional service environment. The 3HP single-phase motor operates at 208-240V, 60Hz.
Configuration Options
Extended Asymmetric Arm Reach
The PV-12PX features adjustable asymmetric lifting arms with reach from 38 to 58 inches, allowing technicians to customize lifting points for diverse vehicle types and wheelbase configurations. This extended reach is particularly valuable for medium-sized vehicles, crossovers, and light trucks. The flexible arm positioning ensures safe, balanced lifting and minimizes workspace obstruction.
Dual Height Settings
Two adjustable column height configurations (lower setting at 165 inches and higher setting at 177 inches overall height) allow optimization for your specific service bay constraints. This flexibility ensures seamless integration into existing facilities without requiring structural modifications. The base width of 115.25 inches and length of 150.375 inches establish a stable, wide footprint.
Installation Requirements
Concrete Foundation
The PV-12PX requires a minimum 4-inch thick concrete pad with 3,000 PSI compressive strength. The concrete floor must be level within 0.25 inches across the lift footprint to ensure proper hydraulic performance and safety. Panther Lift can inspect your existing concrete or recommend reinforcement if needed.
Electrical and Power
The lift requires standard 208-240V single-phase, 60Hz electrical service with a dedicated 20-amp circuit and appropriate disconnect switch installed per National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements. Panther Lift handles all electrical connections and safety compliance during professional installation.
