Atlas Platinum PVL14 — 14,000 lb ALI Certified 4-Post Alignment Lift

The Atlas Platinum PVL14 is a heavy-duty 14,000 lb capacity 4-post alignment lift built for professional automotive service facilities that demand precision, durability, and daily throughput. The four-column steel frame construction — one power-side column, three off-side columns, two drive-on platforms, and two transverse beams — delivers a rigid, stable platform anchored to the concrete floor via column base plates. Every mechanical component is built in steel plate to maximize frame stiffness and strength while keeping overall weight manageable at 2,670 lbs shipping.

Lifting Performance & Platform Dimensions

The PVL14 raises vehicles to a maximum height of 76½ inches (2,000mm) in 66 seconds, providing comfortable standing-height access for undercarriage work, alignment, suspension service, and brake jobs. The two drive-on platforms measure 205½ inches (5,219mm) long by 20 inches (510mm) wide, with 42¾ inches (1,086mm) of free clearance between the runways — wide enough for a technician to work comfortably underneath. Width between the two outer columns is 116⅜ inches (2,955mm), and the overall footprint measures up to 252 inches (6,400mm) long by 131¾ inches (3,345mm) wide with an overall height of 92½ inches (2,349mm). You will need at least 9 feet of clearance from the opposite end of the lift and 6 feet at the power unit end for safe operation and vehicle loading.

Hydraulic Power & Motor

The electro-hydraulic system is powered by a 2HP motor operating at 208-240V/50Hz/60Hz single-phase with a speed of 2,880/3,450 RPM, enclosed in a B14 motor housing rated IP54 for dust and splash protection. The gear-type hydraulic pump delivers a flow rate of 2.5 cm³ per revolution at a continuous working pressure of 160 bar (approximately 2,320 PSI). Hydraulic fluid must conform to ISO 6743/4 HM class specifications and should be changed at one-year intervals. The power unit includes a lifting pushbutton, lowering lever, pressure overload valve, oil tank, and vented cap.

Safety Systems

The PVL14 integrates multiple independent safety mechanisms. The automatic mechanical back-up safety holds the lift in the elevated position and is released by pushing the lever on the control valve. A separate slack cable safety system catches and holds the lift in the event of cable slackening or failure. The pneumatic safety circuit operates at 6-8 bar (87-116 PSI) of compressed air and includes a safety air cylinder, air pump, and safety release solenoid valve. A filter/regulator must be installed on the air circuit and is not supplied by the manufacturer unless special-ordered. The hydraulic circuit includes an oil filter, non-return valve, pressure overload valve, startup valve, flow restrictor, and manual lowering valve for emergency operation.

Installation Requirements

The PVL14 requires 208-240V single-phase electrical service and a compressed air supply capable of maintaining 6-8 bar pressure. The concrete floor must be at minimum 4 inches thick with 3,000 PSI compressive strength. Operating temperature range is 41°F to 104°F (5°C to 40°C). Noise level during operation is 80 dB(A) at 1 meter. Indoor installation only. Professional installation is recommended — contact Panther Lift to schedule service in your area.

Frequently Asked Questions

The PVL14 measures up to 252 inches (21 feet) in overall length, 131¾ inches (approximately 11 feet) in overall width, and 92½ inches (7 feet 8½ inches) in overall height. The drive-on runways are 205½ inches long by 20 inches wide with 42¾ inches of free clearance between them. Width between the two outer columns is 116⅜ inches. You will need at least 9 feet of clearance from the opposite end and 6 feet at the power unit end for safe operation.
The PVL14 requires 208-240V single-phase power at 50/60Hz for the 2HP hydraulic motor. It also requires a compressed air supply capable of maintaining 6-8 bar (87-116 PSI) for the pneumatic safety circuit. A filter/regulator must be installed on the air line and is not included unless special-ordered. A dedicated electrical circuit with appropriate breaker sizing is recommended.
The PVL14 reaches its maximum raised height of 76½ inches in 66 seconds. The lowering speed is gravity-assisted and controlled by the lowering lever on the power unit, providing smooth, controlled descent.
The PVL14 has three independent safety systems. The automatic mechanical back-up safety holds the lift at any elevated position and is released by the control valve lever. The slack cable safety catches and holds the lift if any cable slackens or fails. The pneumatic safety circuit uses compressed air at 6-8 bar with a safety air cylinder and solenoid release valve. These systems operate independently so a failure in one does not compromise the others.
The PVL14 requires wear-proof hydraulic oil conforming to ISO 6743/4 HM class. The recommended oil specifications include a viscosity of 32 cSt at 40°C, a viscosity index of 104, a pour point around -30°C, and a flash point of 215°C. The hydraulic oil should be changed at one-year intervals regardless of usage volume.

Our installation team handles concrete inspection, electrical and pneumatic connections, full lift assembly, hydraulic setup, safety system testing, and final operational verification. Contact us after purchase to schedule installation in your area.
The PVL14 requires a concrete floor at least 4 inches thick with a minimum compressive strength of 3,000 PSI. The concrete must be fully cured before installation. All column base plates must be securely anchored with appropriate anchor bolts maintaining adequate edge distance from any concrete joint or edge.
Yes — the PVL14 is specifically designed for wheel alignment service. The platform design accommodates alignment turnplates and slip plates (available separately as the PVL-ALIKIT accessory). When combined with a pair of rolling jacks (RJ7), the PVL14 becomes a complete alignment bay capable of professional four-wheel alignment on cars, trucks, and SUVs up to 14,000 lbs.
The PVL14 produces approximately 80 dB(A) at 1 meter during the lifting cycle. This is comparable to a typical shop vacuum or loud conversation. The noise is generated primarily during the 66-second raise cycle and is minimal during the gravity-assisted lowering phase.
The PVL14 ships complete with the four-column lift structure, two drive-on platforms, two transverse beams, the hydraulic power unit with 2HP motor, all column base plates and anchor hardware, and the Installation and Operations Manual. Rolling jacks, alignment kit, and hydraulic fluid are sold separately. A compressed air filter/regulator is required but not included unless special-ordered.
