The Atlas Platinum PVL10-EXT is a heavy-duty 10,000 lb capacity ALI Certified 2-post overhead lift designed for professional automotive service facilities, collision centers, and commercial repair shops. This configuration ships with the 2-foot height extension kit pre-bundled, giving you the full PVL10 lift plus 24 inches of additional column height right out of the crate. The PVL10-EXT features the patented Double S column design — a proven architecture used in tens of thousands of lifts worldwide over the past two decades — delivering smooth, balanced lifting across a wide range of vehicle types from sedans and SUVs to light-duty trucks and minivans.

Configurable Width & Height

The PVL10-EXT can be installed symmetrically or asymmetrically to match your shop's bay layout and workflow. In symmetric configuration, the overall width is 137½ inches with 112½ inches of inside column spacing and 99½ inches of drive-thru clearance — ideal for wider trucks and SUVs. In asymmetric configuration, overall width is 139 inches with 107¾ inches between columns and 91 inches of drive-thru — this offset positioning makes it easier to enter and exit the vehicle without door dings. The three-stage front arms and two-stage rear arms provide a maximum lift height of 72½ inches without adapters, or 81½ inches with the included screw-up adapters. Rise time is a consistent 52 to 58 seconds with a maximum stroke of 70⅝ inches, powered by a 1.5 KW gear pump hydraulic system operating at 2,250 PSI continuous pressure.

Height Extension Advantage

The included 2-foot height extension kit adds 24 inches to both the low and standard height positions, bringing overall heights to 159⅞ inches (13 ft 3⅞ in) in low position or 163⅞ inches (13 ft 7⅞ in) in standard position — compared to 135⅞ and 139⅞ inches on the base PVL10 model. Cylinders extend to 12 feet 4 inches at full stroke in either position. This extension is ideal for facilities with ceilings above 14 feet that need the extra headroom for working on taller vehicles or performing overhead service tasks. The extension kit includes longer hoses and cables specifically engineered for the PVL10 platform.

Installation Requirements

The PVL10-EXT requires 220V single-phase power with a dedicated 30-amp circuit breaker, installed by a licensed electrician to local code. The concrete floor must be at least 4 inches thick with a minimum 3,000 PSI rating and must have cured for at least 20 days before the lift is anchored. Anchoring points require a minimum 5-inch edge distance from any concrete edge or expansion joint. The lift requires 3 to 5 gallons of AW32 or AW46 hydraulic fluid, which is not included. Unloading Requirements

This lift ships curbside via freight truck and weighs approximately 2,000 lbs. You are responsible for offloading at your location. A forklift, tractor with forks, or equivalent heavy equipment must be available on-site at the time of delivery. The carrier will not unload the freight.

Concrete & Electrical Requirements

Requires a minimum 4-inch concrete slab rated at 3,000 PSI with at least 20 days of curing. Anchoring points must be at least 5 inches from any concrete edge. Electrical setup requires a dedicated 220V single-phase circuit with 30-amp breaker, installed by a licensed electrician to local code.

Indoor Installation Only

The PVL10-EXT is designed for indoor use only in covered, sheltered locations. Operating temperature range is 14°F to 104°F. Do not install near washing areas, painting workbenches, or areas exposed to solvents or moisture. Outdoor installation will void the warranty.

ALI Certified

Independently tested and validated to ANSI/ALI ALCTV safety standards — the highest professional standard for automotive lifts in the United States. Required or recommended by many insurance providers and OSHA compliance auditors.

Ceiling Height Required: 14 ft Minimum

With the included height extension kit, overall height reaches 159⅞ to 163⅞ inches (13 ft 3⅞ in. to 13 ft 7⅞ in.). Cylinders extend to 12 ft 4 in. at full stroke. We recommend a minimum 14-foot ceiling for safe operation. If your ceiling is below 14 feet, consider the base PVL10 without the extension.

Hydraulic Fluid Not Included

The lift requires 3 to 5 gallons of AW32 or AW46 hydraulic oil, which is not included. Purchase separately and fill according to the Installation & Operations Manual before operating the lift.

Daily checks include inspecting hydraulic connections and hoses for leaks, verifying safety lock engagement (both audibly and visually during operation), checking arm locks, and confirming all bolts, nuts, and screws are tight. Monthly maintenance includes checking all cable connections, pins, and bolts for proper mounting, inspecting and retightening anchor bolts, verifying columns are square and plumb, adjusting equalizer and safety cable tension, inspecting arm pivot pins, replacing worn lifting pads, lubricating columns with grease, and checking hydraulic oil level. Annually, a certified electrician should verify the motor and overhead limit switch, equalizer cables should be replaced if worn more than 5%, and the hydraulic oil should be fully drained and replaced with fresh AW32 or AW46 fluid.
